The Community Energy Association, the Province of British Columbia, Union of British Columbia Municipalities and BC Hydro are pleased to announce the winners of the 2010 Energy & Climate Action Awards. These awards are offered annually to a municipality or regional district implementing a project or program that best integrates energy efficiency / conservation and climate action in the following two areas:
1. Community Planning and Development
2. Corporate Operations
The City of Prince George and District of Maple Ridge are winners of the 2010 Energy & Climate Action Awards. Honourable Mentions were also given to the District of Tofino, City of Campbell River, and City of North Vancouver. Please see the press release attached below for information on each of the winning submissions. A list of 2010 applicants is also attached.
We also wish to acknowledge that twenty outstanding applications that were submitted from 19 municipalities throughout BC – the most ever received! We appreciate the effort and enthusiasm that went into the submissions for this year’s awards. In a sense, all local governments that engage in energy and greenhouse gas emission planning and action are winners, and we applaud the leadership that you have taken in this regard.
