Retrofit Assist is a concierge service, delivered in partnership with local governments to supports residents with their home energy upgrades – from interest through to installation.
The process commences with an onboarding call with Retrofit Assist staff to understand more about the participants' home, areas of concern, and motivations for completing home retrofits. This is followed by an energy assessment with a certified energy advisor and the resulting EnerGuide Report outlines the priority actions a homeowner can undertake to enhance the energy efficiency of their home.
Participants in the program work with a team of experts that provide guidance along the retrofit journey with expert input from certified energy advisors, industry experts and contractors specialising in building envelope (air sealing, insulation, windows and doors) and mechanical system (heating, cooling, hot water and ventilation) upgrades. The Retrofit Assist team also provides guidance to homeowners to maximize the financial support available through municipal, provincial and federal rebate and loan programs.
Retrofit Assist is currently being delivered in Whistler, Squamish and Rossland with other communities interested in implementing the program during 2023.
