Become a Member
CEA members are a community of leaders engaged in bold climate action, peer learning and knowledge-sharing. As a non-profit, member-based organization, everything we do benefits all the communities with which we work, but CEA members have a front row seat to solutions that are based on science and designed for communities.
Donate
CEA is a charity and the only non-profit in British Columbia working at the community level to address climate change. All our income goes back into supporting community-based climate action and allows us to research and develop science-based solutions to save energy and emissions. CEA is incorporated under the Societies Act of BC and has CRA Charitable status. It is strictly non-partisan.
BCMCLC & BC Climate Leaders Playbook
The BC Municipal Climate Leadership Council (BCMCLC) is composed of leading mayors and councilors from across BC representing communities - big and small, north and south, east and west - who are committed to climate action.
BCMCLC members are supported by CEA to engage their colleagues and communities to act on climate change . Rather than an advocacy group, members are mentored to develop strategies that work within the context of their communities while developing planning and implementation frameworks that can be adopted by other BC communities.
CEA works with BCMCLC to produce the Climate Leaders Playbook, a foundation for local climate action that describes the six Big Moves every local government can make.
Climate & Energy Action Awards
The Climate and Energy Action Awards have recognized the efforts of small and large communities across BC in reducing community and corporate energy use and decreasing greenhouse gas emissions. The Awards also recognize municipal leadership on climate change adaptation.
The awards are announced and celebrated each year during the Union of BC Municipalities Convention.
CEA Climate Action Solutions
We collaborate...really well! You can get involved with our work by finding out about the many ways we support local governments on climate and energy. While we are well known for our technical expertise and finding the most pragmatic ways for each community to meet their climate goals, we are a full-service organization.
Resources and Publications
CEA has the accumulated knowledge equity of lots of work over many years! Our resource page is a great place to find publications covering topics like EV charging infrastructure, air source heat pumps, integrated resource recovery and decarbonizing the transportation sector and key resources for local governments like funding guides and case studies of BC Energy Step Code implementation. You'll also find recordings of webinars and links to videos covering a wide range of topics.
