CEEP Quickstart Implementation
BC communities with populations under 75,000 are eligible for this program. Contact CEA for free technical support and policy implementation assistance thanks to the support of BC Hydro. We can help with policy templates, customization, and coaching through approval and implementation. CEA also provide 1-2 days of implementation coaching to communities participating in the Community of Practice on an as-needed basis for up to six communities.
Community Energy Implementation Framework
This new online tool, which was developed by CEA, QUEST and Sustainable Prosperity as part of the Getting to Implementation Initiative, helps communities move Community Energy Plans from vision to implementation. The Community Energy Implementation Framework contains 10 strategies that provide advice on political, staff and stakeholder engagement; staff and financial capacity; and embedding energy into local government plans and processes. The online guide also includes an Implementation Readiness Survey, a self evaluation tool to help communities identify areas of strength and weakness for implementation.
Energy Diets
CEA has collaborated with FortisBC and BC Hydro to assist many small communities develop and deliver a programmatic approach to home energy audits. These programs are achieving 1%-5% penetration of single family homes in a community over a 6 month period.
Electric Vehicles
CEA has completed extensive research on EV’s and charging networks. Check our resources section for guides to download for free. CEA is currently facilitating the 2 year Accelerate Kootenays EV initiative. To learn more about this project, visit its website.
