Building to the Energy Step Code – a Performance-Based Approach to Above Grade Walls and Glazing Assemblies
CEA is thrilled to offer Kelowna and Okanagan builders, building officials and other interested parties the opportunity to learn from Vancouver-based building science expert, Hamid Heidarali, of Hamid Design Build. Hamid will lead this hands-on workshop to provide attendees with a holistic perspective of the overall satisfactory performance of above grade wood-framed walls and glazing assemblies. Supported by mobile wall and glazing assemblies, the workshop will showcase, among other topics, various methods of improving thermal performance, air tightness and moisture management. The workshop will cover a wide-range of solutions, from those that meet the minimum Building Code requirements to those that offer superior performance well beyond the Building Code. With the focus on delivering hands-on and interactive learning, similar workshops have been very well received in communities across BC. This workshop will prepare the industry for the adoption of BC Energy Step Code and participants will earn 7 BC Housing Group A CPD Credits.
