Supporting High Performance Construction
Since 2021 the Building A Legacy North initiative, a collaboration of CEA and Canadian Home Builders Association (CHBA) of Northern BC supports high performance building through implementation of the BC Energy Step Code and Zero Carbon Step Code in Northern BC. We provide training and support of the building industry and local governments with a focus on training opportunities, case studies, and resources that are specific to the cold-climate context.
The program responds to emergent needs and opportunities and has led to initiatives such as the Northwest Energy Retrofit Forum (2024) and a Retrofit Costing Charette in Terrace, BC (2024).
