In an effort to support homebuilders with becoming certified to build ENERGY STAR New Homes, the Community Energy Association coordinated 13 Energy Star for New Homes Builder Workshops from November 2016 to April 2017.
Workshops took place in:
Invermere, Fernie, Cranbrook, Surrey, Victoria, Prince George, Kamloops, Chilliwack, Nelson, Rossland, Grand Forks, Burnaby, and Campbell River.
With agendas and presentations that addressed each community’s unique situation, participants heard directly from industry experts and peers about strategies to build more energy efficient homes. Building officials in attendance gained more insight into how the ENERGY STAR certification process works and heard directly from Certified Energy Advisors. These workshops also provided builders, building professionals and tradespeople with the training necessary to build to Steps 1-3 of the BC Energy Step Code.
