Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities Climate Leadership (VICC-CL) Steering Committee

The Vancouver Island & Coastal Communities Climate Leadership (VICC-CL) Steering Committee is made up of elected officials appointed by their Regional District Boards & the Island’s Trust Council throughout Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast, and the Gulf Islands. The Committee originally formed in 2019 to work together to support regional collaboration on climate action in the VICC region. The Community Energy Association (CEA) has supported the VICC-CL Steering Committee in a Secretariat role since 2022.

Mission statement:

“To connect local elected officials and staff from diverse communities in the VICC region and empower them to accelerate their work on climate change and meet their goals by sharing best practices, collaborating on problem solving and advocating to other orders of government.”
