April 11, 2022 - April 13, 2022

Building A Legacy North Presents, “Step Up to Step Code” Week

The BC Energy Step Code is ushering higher efficiency requirements in all new construction throughout BC

Join us at one or several sub-regionally focused “Step up to Step Code” sessions to learn what it will take to successfully navigate Step Code’s “Performance Pathway”, soon to be required province-wide by the upcoming BC Building Code update. During these FREE, 1.5 hour sessions, Northern-based builders, contractors, sub-trades, energy advisors, designers, suppliers and others are invited to explore:

  • Step Code 101–  rationale, timelines and requirements for energy modeling, air tightness testing, and mechanical systems.
  • Builder Best practices– hear from a local or  regional builder about their Performance Pathway process, best practices, and key take-aways.  Northern BC, cold-climate case-study review.
  • Working with an Energy Advisor– Learn the best phase to engage an energy advisor and how to connect with them to ensure your project stays on track and on time.
  • Performance pathway process– the steps and paperwork required: pre-built form, as-built form, final airtightness test, etc.
  • Building A Legacy North initiative– support for local government and industry on Step Code implementation in the north.  Find resources, recorded webinars, case-studies, upcoming events, etc.
  • Facilitated Discussion

Pre-Approved for 1.5 CPD from BC Housing.
