We work as a non-profit consultant and deliver wide-ranging services that align with the current and future needs of local governments and Indigenous communities. This includes planning, research, communications, engagement, capacity building, policy development, and program design and implementation. These services are applied to projects, programs, and initiatives that accelerate action in our focus areas: the built environment, transportation, and Truth, Reconciliation, and UNDRIP Implementation.
Our SERVICES
CEA’s technical solutions are always informed by context. We aim for successful implementation and enhanced local capacity, and this requires merging our understanding of emissions, government priorities, and proven technical solutions with local circumstances and context. This involves facilitating collaboration between communities and organizations, providing training and coaching to foster leadership, and designing and implementing projects that integrate local priorities.
As a non-profit, CEA’s solutions, knowledge, and resources are shared widely so that projects can be implemented, and successes can be replicated.

Our EXPERTISE
CEA’s work recognizes that transportation and the built environment are the main sources of community-based GHG emissions and that action in these sectors can result in significant GHG emission reductions, enhanced community resiliency, and energy security.
We have cultivated expertise and advanced knowledge of technical solutions around the topic areas most relevant to local governments – Transportation and the Built Environment. Our staff collaborate and integrate their specific expertise to identify low-carbon pathways and implement activities that recognize local circumstances.
CEA is aligning our work on energy and climate with specific articles of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the Province of BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act and the BC Declaration Act Action Plan.
Our staff collaborate to support Indigenous communities in reaching their goals of energy sovereignty, security and resilience. We take a “relationship-first” approach in our work, knowing that our experiences and perspectives will grow as we learn from the communities we work with.
